How buying a domain or trademark works

From first enquiry to ownership, with what to expect at each stage.

Five stages

Find

Browse the shop or tell us what you need.

Ask or offer

Send a question or an offer. No obligation.

Agree

We confirm the price and the terms in writing.

Pay

Pay online or arrange payment with us.

Transfer

We guide the domain or the trademark into your name.

Domain names

After payment, the domain moves from our account to yours. You will need an account at a registrar. If you do not have one, we can suggest options. Registry rules can affect timing, so we tell you what to expect at the start.

Trademarks

The seller assigns the mark to you in writing. The new ownership is recorded with IP Australia. We provide the class, status and renewal details before you pay.

Business names

You receive the brand name and its domain. If you will trade under it, you may need to register it with ASIC.

After you buy

  1. Set up your website and email on the domain.
  2. Update signage, invoices and profiles.
  3. Diarise the domain renewal and, for a trademark, the renewal date.

Prices and terms are confirmed in writing before you pay. Check GST treatment on any listing and ask us for a tax invoice if you need one.

Questions buyers ask

Ask us about payment arrangements on higher-priced names. We will confirm what is available before you commit.
Nothing. An enquiry is free and creates no obligation. Terms apply once you confirm a purchase.
The shop accepts standard online payment. For larger purchases, call us on 1300 724 368 and we will arrange payment with you.

Yes. We guide you through the registrar transfer or the trademark assignment, and we stay in contact until it is complete.

Check the price on each listing, as GST treatment can differ by product. Ask us if you need a tax invoice.
